Land & Water
The patterns of the Land and Water fabrics are made when I am sailing, reflecting the integration of the field patterns with new patterns found at sea. Some of the patterns are captured in my sketch book, some are painted with walnut ink. Sail Stitch was created when I was making my ‘Earth Sails’ and is a reflection of the V shaped pattern often left by the tractor in the fields, and the traditional stitch used on the canvas of the sail.
