Walking Drawings
Walking Drawings
Walking Drawings is an ongoing project that explores the connection between movement, memory, and mark–making.
When I return from a walk, I draw the route from memory – eyes closed – allowing instinct and recollection to guide my hand. Using walnut ink and a small stick or twig found along the way, I trace the rhythm and pattern of the walk as it lingers in my mind.
The same path can produce entirely different patterns, each one shaped by time, weather, and mood. These drawings are recorded in my sketchbook and, at times, translated onto Japanese gampi paper or cloth – quiet records of journeys retraced through gesture and touch.
