Land & Water

The Land & Water fabric collection emerges from time spent sailing, a meeting point between the marks of the land and the patterns discovered at sea. These designs reflect the quiet dialogue between field and ocean, where the rhythms of ploughed soil meet the movement of wind and water. Some began as sketches in my notebook, others were painted directly with walnut ink.

Sail Stitch was created while I was making my Earth Sails, inspired by the repeating V–shaped pattern left by the tractor in the fields and the traditional stitching found on a canvas sail, a union of land and sea, thread and mark.
